Man Ray Photograph - Les Larmes or Glass Tears 1930 - Man Ray - Les Larmes (Glass Tears), 1930 A striking two-colour print of Les Larmes (Glass Tears), one of Man Ray’s most iconic and enigmatic photographs. This edition is enhanced with a glossy varnish and bears the reverse inscription: “Man Ray - Les Larmes 1930, Serag Imprimerie, France – Man Ray 282”, along with a rubber stamp reading “Recu le 9 Dec, 1994.” (Received 9 December, 1994).  The image features an extreme close-up of a mannequin’s upturned face, adorned with carefully placed glass beads that mimic tears. Deceptively lifelike yet unmistakably artificial, the subject blurs the boundary between the animate and inanimate - a recurring theme in Man Ray’s work. Through this haunting composition, the artist probes the tension between reality and illusion, emotion and artifice, redefining the concept of still-life photography within a surrealist framework. Medium: Two-colour print with glossy varnish Markings: Inscribed and stamped on reverse. Dimensions: 21,8 cm x 16,6 cm, 6.5 x 8.75 inches. Provenance: Serag Imprimerie Archives. Condition: Fine condition.
