Caroline Bonaparte, Queen of Naples Signed Berger, 19th C Miniature Painting - A finely painted 19th century portrait miniature on ivory (rectangular plaque, approx. 10 × 7 cm, excluding frame), depicting Caroline Bonaparte (1782-1839), sister of Napoleon Bonaparte and Queen Consort of Naples. The sitter is shown in Empire-style dress with jeweled tiara, pearl necklace, and emerald pendant, set against a soft blue-gray background. The piece is signed at right “Berger.” The verso of the old wooden frame bears an inscription identifying the sitter as “Caroline Bonaparte.” The miniature remains backed with its original patterned textile lining, consistent with 19th-century workshop practice. Measures 3.75 x 2.75 inches, frame measures 6 x 4.5 inches. Wood frame has shrunk and separated from age.
