Inuit Soapstone Carving of a Standing Figure in Parka - Carved in dark grey serpentine/soapstone, the figure stands with arms extended; front yoke and hood are crisply incised and a long oval panel at the back suggests an amauti tail (woman’s parka). Surface shows even wear and old handling. Height: 7.75 in. (19.7 cm). Marks: Underside incised “9245” and faint additional scratches. No letter-prefixed disc number observed (e.g., E#-####), so the numeral is most consistent with a co-op/gallery inventory code, not a government disc ID. Attribution: Unidentified Inuit artist; likely Sanikiluaq (Belcher Islands) school, 1960s–70s.
