The underside retains an old Cape Dorset label, numbered 4808, inscribed with the artist’s name: Muna Parr. Muna Parr (1928–2005) of Cape Dorset (Kinngait) is a recognized Inuit sculptor whose works often focus on intimate portrayals of Inuit daily life and figures, rendered in compact, expressive forms.
