Lukta Qiatsuq (1928–2004), Cape Dorset, Steatite Bird Sculpture - Inuit Carved stone bird by renowned Inuit artist Lukta Qiatsuq, Cape Dorset (Kinngait), Nunavut. Executed in mottled green-grey steatite, the form is minimalist yet powerful, with incised beak and tail detail. Underside signed in syllabics and “Lukta” in Roman script. Dimensions: 7.75 x 6.5 in (19.5 x 16.5 cm). Provenance: Cape Dorset Co-op label, private Canadian collection. Condition: Loss to one foot (detached piece retained), minor surface wear consistent with age.
