Group of Chinese Jade Carvings, Archaic Style Dragon Plaque (4 in.) and Carved Horse on Stand - Collection of Chinese jade carvings in archaic style, comprising a rectangular openwork plaque and a carved horse figure mounted on a fitted hardwood stand. The plaque (3.25 x 4 in.) is carved in relief with a stylized dragon motif framed within a bordered cartouche, the perimeter featuring symmetrical archaistic scrollwork and twin dragon forms in profile.  The carved horse (approx. 2.75 x 3.5 in., excluding stand) is rendered standing with lowered head and incised mane detailing. The figure is raised on a carved hardwood base shaped to follow the contours of the animal. Both pieces reflect traditional Chinese motifs executed in an archaizing manner.
