Antique Japanese Woodblock Print, Tanchosai Eishi, Silver Mica Ground - A Japanese polychrome woodblock print depicting an elegant bijin (beauty) in elaborate floral headdress and richly patterned robes, by Tanchosai Eishi (1756-1829). The composition features a finely executed silver mica (kira-zuri) background, a luxury technique associated with high-quality ukiyo-e production. The surface shows natural aging and oxidation. Printed in the traditional ukiyo-e manner from carved woodblocks with hand-applied pigments on handmade washi paper.
