Antique Japanese Iron Inlaid Mixed Metals Tsuba for Tanto Dagger - Antique Japanese Iron with Bronze Inlaid Mixed Metals Tsuba for Tanto Dagger with fish decoration. Material: It is crafted from iron, gold, and a copper-gold alloy known as shakudo.  Design: The scene features a carp inlaid via suemon-zogan and seaweed inlaid via kinzogan on a surface engraved to resemble running water.  Historical Use: Tsuba were hand guards for Japanese swords, designed to protect the user's hand and balance the weapon.  Measuring 2 x 1.75 inches.
