Hiroshige II Utagawa (1826-1869) Japanese Woodblock Print Scenic View of Akabane - Japanese woodblock print (ukiyo-e) titled Akabane, created by the artist Hiroshige II Utagawa (also known as Shigenobu, 1826-1869).  This piece is part of the series Views of Famous Places in Edo (Edo Meisho Zue) and was published between 1861 and 1864 by Fujiokaya Keijiro.  Artist: Hiroshige II Utagawa, the pupil and adopted son of the legendary Hiroshige I.  Scene: The print depicts a scenic view of the Akabane district in Edo (modern-day Tokyo).
