Vietnamese Bien Hoa Polychrome Stoneware Charger With Mandarin Procession, 20th Century - A decorative Vietnamese Bien Hoa polychrome stoneware charger, painted with a formal mandarin procession scene: a robed official riding beneath a ceremonial parasol, accompanied by attendants carrying banners and standards through leafy landscape. The rim is bordered with a rich iron-red and gilt-style scrolling band, framing the central courtly composition with strong export-decorative presence. The underside bears an impressed Bien Hoa mark, identifying the piece with the Bien Hoa ceramic tradition of southern Vietnam.
