Bidspirit auction | Chinese Blue And White Porcelain

Chinese Blue And White Porcelain Cylindrical Brush Pot Or Censer, Probably Kangxi - Kangxi period, painted in a restrained literati landscape with scholars, attendants, distant mountains, water, rockwork, trees, and pavilion architecture. The form is sober with straight cylindrical walls, a thick rounded rim, and a recessed underside raised on three short supports. The decoration wraps continuously around the body, creating the impression of a handscroll translated onto porcelain. Sparse mountain outlines, broad areas of open white ground, and concentrated passages of deep cobalt blue give the scene a distinctly poetic rhythm: empty space becomes mist, water, and distance, while the darker cobalt passages anchor the composition with rocks, trees, figures, and architectural detail. Dimensions: 5 inches H x 5.25 W.
