Pair of Modernist Jeff Messerschmidt 1500 Pipe Line Lucite Armchairs 1976 - Pair of Modernist Jeff Messerschmidt 1500 Series Pipe Line Lucite Armchairs c. 1976 featuring a clear lucite tubular frame joined by polished metal connectors, and grey upholstery on leather straps. Created primarily during the 1970s and 1980s, these chairs are iconic examples of Mid-Century Modern and Space Age design, characterized by their sculptural use of clear, thick Lucite (acrylic) tubing. Signed on back, dated 1976, sequentially numbered 273 and 274. Upholstery was redone at a later date. Dimensions: 34 inches H x 22 W x 24 deep.
