Pair of Torah Finials – North Africa, Early 20th Century – Ben Hamou Family - Pair of Torah finials. North Africa, possibly Algeria, [early 20th century]. Sheet silver, repoussé and engraved (unmarked); chased. Tall, slender hexagonal bodies, adorned with vegetal motifs characteristic of North African craftmanship. Dedicatory inscriptions are engraved within pointed horseshoe-arch frames, pertaining to Avraham Ben Hamou. Each finial is topped with chains bearing bells. Height: 36 cm. Max. width: 6.5 cm. Overall good condition. One chain missing. Minor bends, small blemishes and old soldering repairs.
