Tower-Shaped Spicebox – Poland, 19th Century - Spice container. [Presumably Poland, 19th century]. Silver, cut and repoussé (marked with fineness mark “12”); filigree; parcel-gilt. Crafted in the form of a tower topped with a large gilded dome, adorned with vegetal motifs and a rooster finial. The dome is detachable and may have been intended to double as a Havdalah candleholder. The octagonal spice compartment is made entirely of delicate silver filigree panels with floral designs. Set on a round base with a short stem. The initials BR are engraved on the dome. Height: 22.5 cm. Base diameter: 7.5 cm. Good condition. Minor breaks. Few small silver pieces missing.
