Le Temple de Jerusalem, by Melchior de Vogüé – Paris, 1864 – Hand-Colored Plates
Le Temple de Jerusalem, Monographie du Haram-ech-Cherif [The Temple in Jerusalem, Monograph on the Haram al-Sharif], by Melchior de Vogüé. Paris: Noblet & Baudry, 1864. French.
Important and comprehensive study on the history of the Temple Mount, discussing the history of the structures on the site – including both Temples as reconstructed from various sources – as well as their architecture, decorations, inscriptions discovered in the course of archaeological excavations, and the topography of Jerusalem.
