Manuscript of righteous Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher of Greiditz; letter draft of Halachic (unsigned) question to Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Kalischer, regarding distribution of charity money from the estate fund of Rabbi Shmuel Badt. Kislev, 1865.
Autographic writing with deletions and brief and lengthy additions. [Never printed, however similar letter addressing this matter, by Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher to Rabbi Ya’akov Ettlinger author of Aruch LaNer was printed in Aderet Eliyahu responsa, Chosen Mishpat, chapter 8].
Ga’on Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher (1796-1875), among first disciples of Rabbi Akiva Eiger in Posen. Av Beit Din of Pleszew and Greiditz. Exalted righteous Kabbalist. In his later years was famous as ‘miracle worker’; known as “Der Greiditzer Tzadik” [=Tzadik of Greiditz].
