Esther Scroll in Silver Filigree Case – Jerusalem - Esther scroll housed in decorated case. Jerusalem [second half of 20th century]. Marked: ”Made in Israel” [English], and ”Yerushalayim” [Hebrew]. Ink on parchment; silver, filigree (unmarked). HaMelech (”The King”) Esther scroll (i.e., most columns headed with the word HaMelech). Written on 3 sheets of parchment glued together, 30 columns of text, 14 lines per column. Scroll housed in elegant silver filigree case, modeled after 19th-century European cases. Upper ornament set with green glass bead. Height of parchment sheets: 5 cm. Overall good condition. Few stains and creases. Height of case: 21.5 cm. Good condition.
