Trei Asar – Frankfurt an der Oder, 1595 – Interleaved Copy with Many Handwritten Inscriptions – Early Parchment Binding from Latin Liturgical Music Manuscript - Trei Asar – the twelve minor prophets. [Frankfurt an der Oder: Yochanan and Friedrich Hartman, 1595]. Interleaved copy, with blank leaves bound between leaves for additions and notes. The present copy was apparently owned by a Hebraist, as the blank leaves were filled in with many handwritten notes (German and some Latin) relating to the translation of words and expressions appearing in the text. Early parchment binding, composed of a liturgical manuscript in Latin, with musical notes (fine piece of leather with colorful and gilt illustrations mounted on front of binding). The Hartman brothers printed several Bible editions in various sizes the same year. One of the first Hebrew books printed in Frankfurt an der Oder. [51] leaves. 17 cm. Somewhat dark paper. Good condition. Stains. Early parchment binding. Minor defects to binding. Bookplate of Mozes Heiman Gans.
