Two Miniature Chumashim – Venice, 16th/17th Century – Original Leather Binding - Two Chumashim, Bereshit and Devarim, from an early edition of the Five Books of the Torah. [Venice, ca. second half of 16th or first half of 17th century]. Two volumes. Two Chumashim from a Torah edition printed in Venice. It is unclear which edition they were printed as part of, and they may originate in an unknown edition. Two volumes. Bereshit: 2-7, 10-94 leaves. Lacking title page and leaves 8-9. Devarim: [307]-[374] leaves. Lacking first two leaves (title page, as well as another leaf, based on collation), as well as continuation, which probably included Shir HaShirim and haftarot. 8.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains, including dampstains. Wear and signs of use to first volume. Small marginal tears to several leaves. Close trimming, affecting text (especially second volume, affecting tops of pages, with page headers and foliation lacking). Original leather binding. Wear and defects to bindings.
