Collection of Letters from the United States and Eretz Israel – Chayei Olam Yeshiva in Jerusalem – Ca. 1920s-1960s - Large collection of over 80 letters and documents from rabbis and emissaries, tzedakah collectors and philanthropists from around the world: Eretz Israel, the United States and Canada, England and other countries. [Ca. 1920s-1960s]. Most of the letters in the collection are addressed to the Chayei Olam yeshiva in Jerusalem, from rabbis in the United States and Canada (some with multiple letters), including: R. Pinchas Teitz, Rabbi of Elizabeth, New Jersey; R. Shmuel HaLevi Levin, Hamilton, Canada; R. Shlomo Zalman Krevsky, Rabbi of Allentown, Pennsylvania; R. Yitzchak Simchah HaLevi Horowitz, Hartford; R. Meir Tzvi Hirsch, San Francisco; R. Avraham Nachman Schwartz, Baltimore; R. Naftali Hertz HaKohen Zeichik, Des Moines, Iowa; R. Menachem Mendel Graubard, the Bronx; R. Ephraim Zalman Halpern, Rabbi of Denver (later founder of Taharat HaMishpachah in Eretz Israel); and many other rabbis. The collection also includes letters of the Chayei Olam yeshiva in Jerusalem, with signatures of yeshiva deans: R. Yerucham Fishel Berenstein, R. Meir Adler (son-in-law of the Rebbe of Lelov), R. Yisrael Rabin, R. Yisrael Goldwicht and R. Aharon Bernstein. Over 80 paper items. Varying size and condition. Many letters with filing holes. The collection has not been thoroughly examined, and is being sold as is.
