Handwritten Document – Missionizing to the Jews – South Holland, 1677 - Handwritten document, draft of motions proposed by the regional Synod of South Holland of the Dutch Reformed Church (De Particuliere Synode van Zuid-Holland), held in Delft in 1677. The proposal, which discusses steps relating to converting the Jews to Christianity, was submitted to the States General of the Netherlands, but these steps were never put into practice. This is one of the only examples of a document in which the Dutch Reformed Church formulated concrete moves to convert the Jews to Christianity. We do not know if the text of this draft is identical to the final draft submitted to the States General for consideration. [6] leaves (including 4 written pages). 33 cm. Good condition.
