Manuscript – Tashlich – Europe, 1806 – Illustrated Title Page - Manuscript, order of Tashlich. [Europe, 1806]. Pocket format. Color-illustrated title page, in architectural pattern, with floral decorations. At the center of the title page: ”Belongs to Yosef son of Alexander Shatz – made Thursday, 28th Elul, [1806]”. Another colored floral decoration at end of Tashlich. Ashkenazic square script, partially vocalized, with instructions in Ashkenazic semi-cursive script. Comprises the order of Tashlich, following the Ashkenazic rite (as it appears in the Shlah and other sources). At the end is a kabbalistic prayer. This is followed by an uncommon prayer (printed in Kohelet Shlomo by R. Shlomo Zalman London): ”May it be Your will… to remember the love of Abraham and the Binding of Isaac… who crossed the river to do Your bidding, and the merit of Jacob who crossed the Ford of Jabbok…”. The present order of Tashlich does not include the prayer of the Chida (which had not yet entered into the Ashkenazic liturgy). [14] written pages (and many blank leaves). 13.5 cm. Good condition. Stains. Original binding, with defects.
