Silver Hanukkah Lamp – Germany, ca. 1900 - Erect Hanukkah lamp. Germany, possibly Schwäbisch Gmünd, ca. 1900. Silver, lathed (marked with German fineness marks, ”800” and a crown and crescent moon, in use from 1888; and with maker’s mark in the form of a cup (?), possibly Otto Wolter, Schwäbisch Gmünd). Erect Hanukkah lamp with hexagonal base, and matching bases for candle sockets resembling hexagonal pitchers. The candle sockets themselves are in the shape of round disks. Removable servant light. Height: 20 cm. Width at base: 11 cm. Maximal width: 33 cm. Weight: 380 g. Overall good condition. Minor warping. Remnants of gilt.
