A Group of Minton 'Florentine' Earthenware Plates and a Covered Serving Dish - A group of Minton 'Florentine' earthenware plates and a covered serving dish, dating to the late 19th century Victorian period. The group comprises approximately ten deep ceramic plates or shallow bowls and an oval lidded serving dish. The intricate Neo-Renaissance or grotesque style 'Florentine' pattern is rendered in maroon, gold, black, and grey on an off-white ground, depicting classical motifs including winged figures, urns, elaborate scrolls, and profile medallions, bordered by a gold scalloped line. Underside markings include a British Registry Mark dating the design to 1867, the name ”FLORENTINE, ” ”M&B Co. ENGLAND, ” and a handwritten ”e495 A, ” with an additional ”EARLY MINTON 1867” sticker.
