A Pair of Royal Staffordshire A.J. Wilkinson 'Stafford' Porcelain Plates - A pair of Royal Staffordshire A.J. Wilkinson 'Stafford' porcelain plates. Each square-form plate features scalloped edges and is crafted from glazed porcelain. The intricate, vibrant decoration, often described as Imari style, includes a central white area framed by a border of multi-colored floral motifs, specifically pink and yellow roses with brown foliage, interspersed with geometric patterns, segments of deep blue with gilded wavy lines, and smaller green-dotted squares containing stylized orange blossoms. Gilding accents are present throughout the design. The reverse of both plates carries a reddish-brown transferware mark reading ”'STAFFORD' ROYAL STAFFORDSHIRE A.J. WILKINSON LTD PORCELAIN ENGLAND, ” along with hand-painted orange numerals ”5615” and small green and blue dots. Each plate approximately 9.5 inches across. The plates are in good condition for their age. There are no visible chips, cracks, or significant wear to the detailed decoration or gilding. Minor manufacturing imperfections are present, consistent with the production methods of the period.
