A Pair of J.F. Herring Senr. 1827 Fox Hunting Aquatint Prints: 'The Meet' and 'The Find' - This lot features a pair of 19th-century British fox hunting aquatint prints, attributed to J.F. Herring Senr. and dated 1827. One print depicts 'The Meet, ' showing hunters on horseback and hounds in a landscape, while the other, 'The Find, ' illustrates a hunter holding up a fox with hounds gathered around. Each print is visibly marked ”J. F. Herring Senr. 1827,” ”Aquatinted by R. G. Reeve, ” and ”Publish'd by S. & J. Fuller at their Sporting Gallery, 34, Rathbone Place, London.” The prints are presented behind glass within ornate, gilded wooden frames with cream-colored mats. The reverse of one frame features a blue circular sticker labeled ”STYLED BY F.B. FLECK BROS., ” and both backing boards are marked ”2066” in pencil. Each frame measures approximately 23.5 inches wide by 18.5 inches high.
