Georges Briard for Hyalyn Mid-Century Modern Black and Gold Fish Motif Vase - A Mid-Century Modern black and gold vase by Georges Briard for Hyalyn. This elongated, ovoid decorative vessel features a distinct footed base and an irregularly cut opening. The black body is adorned with gold-colored etched or inlaid decoration, depicting two stylized fish confronting a central rosette on one side, and a diamond-shaped geometric pattern flanked by floral motifs on the reverse. Additional leafy scrolls and horizontal bands decorate the upper and lower body. The material appears to be either lacquered wood or dark-patinated metal with gilded designs. Height: 11 inches (28 cm)
