A Collection of Six Early 20th Century Educational Editions of Shakespeare and Tennyson - A collection of six early 20th century hardcover educational books. Comprising three brown, cloth-bound volumes from ”Macmillan's Pocket Classics”: William Shakespeare's ”Hamlet” (1922), ”Macbeth” (1921), and ”The Merchant of Venice” (1921). Also included is a blue cloth-bound volume, ”Merrill's English Texts: Idylls of the King Tennyson” (1911/1912), featuring a frontispiece portrait of Alfred Lord Tennyson. The collection is completed by a maroon cloth-bound book, ”The Handy-Volume Shakspeare, Vol. VI, ” containing ”King Richard the Second, ” ”King Henry the Fourth—Part I, ” and ”King Henry the Fourth—Part II, ” published by George Routledge and Sons. One of the Shakespeare volumes contains handwritten inscriptions and study notes on the front endpapers, including ”Helen Packer Junior 1922-23.”
