Bidspirit auction | A Collection of 4 Late
A Collection of 4 Late 20th Century Stoneware Mugs with Loon Transfer Print - A collection of four matching ceramic stoneware mugs, consistent with late 20th-century studio pottery or mass-produced stoneware aesthetics. Each mug features a rounded body and a robust, horizontally banded glaze design. The interior and upper exterior are covered in a glossy, textured deep reddish-orange glaze. This is banded below by segments of dark brown or olive, bright white, light blue, and a deep blue or brown at the base. The white midsection of the body is decorated with a black and white transfer print depicting three Common Loons swimming in water against a naturalistic backdrop of reeds. Faint visible script, possibly reading Darcy, is located near the base of the transfer design on the body. The undersides of the mugs are unglazed or matte white, exhibiting concentric, wavy indentations but no discernible maker's marks or stamps. Height: 5.5 inches (14 cm)
