Crystal Metal No. 2 Cast Iron Farm Bell Assembly - A large antique cast iron bell assembly, identified through inscriptions and market consensus as the Crystal Metal No. 2 model manufactured by The C. S. Bell Co. of Hillsboro, Ohio. The assembly consists of the bell, the lower yoke, and the upper mounting bracket (marked ”NO. 2 UPRIGHT”). Inscriptions cast into the metal of the lower yoke include ”THE C.S. BELL CO. 2 HILLSBORO, O.” and the date ”1886.” The upper yoke is marked ”CRYSTAL METAL” and ”NO. 2 UPRIGHT.” The bell features a textured surface finish typical of cast iron production.
