A 1950s Carved Lucite and Confetti Box Purse - A mid-century modern box-style handbag, circa 1950s, of a style frequently associated with Miami-based makers. The oblong, trunk-style body is composed of marbled charcoal and silver-gray confetti Lucite. The clear Lucite lid is decorated with three reverse-carved sunburst motifs and is secured by a dark marbled orb clasp with silver-toned metal hardware. A matching clear Lucite handle with a carved twisted rope design is attached to the lid with metal hinges. The interior is unlined. Length: 8.5 inches Height: 4 inches Width: 4.5 inches Surface scratches consistent with age and use. A notable internal crack or area of crazing is present on one side panel.
