Vintage General Electric Model 356 Bakelite AM/FM Tube Radio - This General Electric Model 356 tabletop tube radio, dating to circa 1948, features a dark brown Bakelite cabinet with a characteristic horizontal louvered speaker grille. The unit is equipped with a top-mounted glass tuning dial displaying both FM (88 to 108 MHz) and Standard AM (55 to 160 kHz) frequency bands. Two front-facing knobs control volume/tone and tuning, flanking an embossed manufacturer mark. The rear perforated fiberboard panel retains several original labels, notably one identifying it as an FM unit licensed under the Armstrong System and another advertising General Electric Electronic Radio Tubes. The original power cord with a vintage-style plug remains attached.
