Philco Art Deco Floor-Standing Radio & Phonograph Console
This Philco floor-standing radio and phonograph console dates from the late 1930s to early 1940s. The unit is housed in an Art Deco-style wooden cabinet featuring veneers and vertical slats positioned over a fabric-covered speaker grille. The upper control panel includes a multi-band dial displaying frequencies for various international cities and a series of preset push-buttons, including stations WGN and WMA. The interior contains a phonograph assembly with a turntable and a cream-and-red tonearm. A metal identification plate is present, marked Built for Philco Home Recording. The rear chassis contains vacuum tubes and a serial number tag R 92578. Included with the lot is a vintage Victor 78 RPM record titled My Baby's Arms by John Steel.

The item shows wear commensurate with age, including surface scratches on the wood cabinet. The speaker fabric exhibits visible fraying and tearing. The power cord has a taped repair. The operational status of the radio and phonograph is untested. When turned on there was static. Tuning dial does not work.
