Philco Model 38-7 Art Deco Floor Console Radio - A Philco Model 38-7, Code 121 floor console radio, manufactured in the United States circa 1938. The Art Deco style cabinet is constructed with figured wood veneers and features a sloping upper front panel with fluted side details. Centered on the upper panel is a circular Cone-Centric Tuning Dial displaying various international station call signs and cities, accompanied by three control knobs. The lower portion of the cabinet houses the speaker behind four vertical wooden slats and a patterned acoustic grille cloth. The interior contains a tube-chassis and a manufacturer label specifying 115 Volts A.C. and 70 Watts. This lot includes technical diagrams and documentation detailing the Cone-Centric tuning mechanism and chassis layout. 41 x 25.5 x 13.75 inches Powers on. The unit is in overall good condition with minor surface scratches and scuffs consistent with age and use. The internal chassis shows accumulated dust.
