This Montgomery Ward Airline Radio Phono Combination, Article No. 62-2700, Series 17A80, is a floor-model console unit. The Art Deco style wooden cabinet features a dark finish and houses a top-mounted tuning dial for broadcast and shortwave bands. The interface includes four control knobs labeled for volume, tone, band selection, and tuning. A lower pull-out drawer contains a phonograph turntable with a brown felt-covered platter and tonearm. The internal chassis retains its vacuum tubes and an Air Wave loop aerial system. Manufacturer labels identify the unit as produced for Montgomery Ward in Chicago, Illinois. An original paper owner guide is included with the lot. 38 1/4 x 28 1/4 x 17 inches The wooden cabinet shows significant wear consistent with age, including prominent scuffing, scratches, and finish loss on the top and front panels. The fabric speaker grille is stained. Adhesive tape with handwritten notes is currently affixed to the tuning dial glass. The internal chassis and phonograph components are dusty.
