Edison Diamond Disc Phonograph in Quarter-Sawn Oak Cabinet - This item is located on the second floor. An Edison Diamond Disc phonograph housed in a standing quarter-sawn oak cabinet featuring prominent tiger oak graining. The hinged lid opens to a black-finished metal deck containing a turntable with a green felt mat, a nickel-plated reproducer, and a tone arm. The interior lid is marked with a gold-toned Edison logo, and the deck features the Thomas A. Edison trade mark alongside mechanical instructions. A speed indicator is present, specifying a playback speed of 80 turns per minute. The lower portion of the cabinet includes a front fabric-covered speaker grille and a storage shelf supported by four turned legs. A side-mounted metal winding crank with a wooden handle is attached to the right side of the cabinet. 41 1/2 x 18 1/4 x 21 1/4 inches The unit is in good antique condition. The oak cabinet shows typical light surface wear, minor scratches, and small indentations consistent with age and use. There is visible oxidation and light pitting to the nickel-plated and metal components. The fabric speaker grille remains intact. Mechanical functionality has not been tested.
