Zenith Model 10-S-669 Console Radio - This item is located on the second floor. A Zenith Model 10-S-669 console tube radio, circa 1942. The unit features an Art Deco-style wooden cabinet with rounded vertical pillars and a fabric-covered speaker grille. The central interface consists of a large glass dial calibrated for standard and shortwave broadcasts, listing various international cities. Flanking the dial are ten Radiorgan pushbuttons for station presets, including call signs WMAQ, WGN, and WBBM, as well as tone adjustments. The rear of the unit reveals a complete chassis containing vacuum tubes and an internal Wavemagnet antenna assembly. The speaker is a Zenith-branded model 49H-16. The chassis is stamped with the model number 10S669 and bears a service sticker from Lee’s Antique Radio Service of Holland, Michigan. 41 inches H x 28 inches W x 13 inches D The wooden cabinet exhibits minor surface wear, light scuffing, and finish aging consistent with the period.
