A Pair of Antique English Pencil Drawings of Sailing Vessels, circa 1825-1835 - This lot features a pair of antique English pencil drawings of sailing vessels dating from approximately 1825 to 1835. The sketches are executed on aged paper and are professionally floated on a cream rag mat within a single frame. The top drawing is inscribed in pencil as a Br topsail schooner c/1835, and the lower drawing is marked Br. West Indiaman c 1825. The items are housed in a hand-painted black and brown wooden frame featuring an ornate, repeating carved pattern. The reverse of the frame includes a label from Fred Reed Picture Framing and a descriptive inventory sticker. Measurement: 17 inches wide X 22 inches tall The paper shows toning consistent with age. The frame exhibits minor surface wear and small losses to the finish on the left side.
