Sterling Silver Taxco Shield Pendant Necklace 9.5 Grams - A sterling silver jewelry set featuring a detachable pendant and a separate bead-style chain. The ornate shield-shaped pendant showcases a prominent central raised silver dome surrounded by decorative scrollwork and fine beaded granulation-style accents. Recessed background areas are intentionally oxidized to provide a high-contrast finish to the silver motifs. The pendant is suspended from a large tapered bail. The accompanying fine sterling silver ball chain secures with a spring ring clasp. Hallmarks on the reverse of the pendant include MEXICO, 925, and the maker registration TR-114, identifying the piece as being crafted in the silver center of Taxco, Mexico. The chain end tab is stamped 925 and AC. Chain length 21 inches. Total weight 9.5 grams. The items are in good vintage condition with light surface wear and minor scuffing consistent with age and previous use. The spring ring clasp is fully functional. The oxidation in the recessed areas is original to the design to highlight the decorative elements.
