Theo Tobiasse, Signed and Numbered Color Lithograph 169/200 - This vibrant color lithograph by Israeli-French artist Theo Tobiasse (1927-2012) is titled ”Un Peuple Assis dans l'Usure des Pierres” (A People Sitting in the Wear of Stones). The composition features the artist's characteristic expressionistic and symbolic style, centering on a figure in a harlequin-patterned garment. To the left is a reclining figure, and to the right, a couple is depicted in a cart pulled by a spotted animal. The artwork incorporates handwritten French text within the image. Signed by the artist in pencil in the lower-right margin and numbered 169/200 in the lower-left margin. The print is housed in a two-tone silver and gold-finished frame with a white and gold-trimmed mat. Frame size approximately 40 x 33 inches tall The print appears to be in overall good condition with vibrant colors and no visible foxing, toning, fading, or handling creases. It has not been examined out of the frame. The two-tone silver and gold-finished frame shows minor surface abrasions and small nicks along the edges consistent with age and handling. The matting and mounting appear stable and well-preserved.
