Tiara Indiana Glass Diamond Point Black Amethyst Compote - Manufactured by the Indiana Glass Company for Tiara Exclusives, this large compote is executed in the classic Diamond Point pattern. The piece is crafted from pressed opaque black glass, a variety frequently identified as black amethyst due to its deep purple hue when held to strong light. The design is characterized by a textured body of sharp, raised diamond facets, a multi-faceted stem with a decorative central knop, and a flared base transitioning from a hexagonal to a round profile. The underside of the base is smooth and slightly concave, lacking a pontil scar as is typical for pressed glassware of this era. This piece dates to the late 20th century. Height: 11 inches. Base Diameter: 4 inches. This item is in excellent vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or structural repairs. The pressed facets are crisp and well-defined.
