Vintage Italian Leather-Wrapped Wine Decanter - A vintage mid-century figural wine decanter in the form of a duck or goose, manufactured in Italy. The piece features a green glass interior vessel entirely encased in a decorative multi-textured leather exterior. The main body is finished in black pebbled leather, accented by applied tan leather wings with green-painted scrollwork, a fringed leather collar, and a sawtooth-edged strip along the spine. The elongated neck is finished with a woven tan leather wrap, topped by a removable head-shaped stopper featuring red faceted inset jewel eyes. The underside of the base bears a gold-stamped MADE IN ITALY mark. This style of whimsical barware was a popular Italian export during the 1960s and 1970s, often associated with the artisanal leather traditions of the Florence region. Overall length is approximately 11.5 inches. Height 6.5 inches. Good vintage condition. The leather shows surface scuffing, minor abrasions, and general wear consistent with age and handling. The gold-stamped mark on the base is partially faded. The glass interior and threaded neck appear intact. The stopper is present and fits securely.
