Hand-Carved Ironwood Saguaro Cactus Sculpture - This hand-carved wood sculpture depicts a saguaro cactus, rendered in a rustic folk art style. The piece is carved from a single block of dense wood. The sculpture includes an integral, roughly hewn base that displays prominent tool marks and gouges from the carving process. The surface of the cactus is detailed with linear grooves and textured stippling to simulate the plant ribs and spines. No signatures, maker marks, or inscriptions are visible on the body or the underside of the base. 13.5 inches in height 5 inches base The sculpture is in generally good condition. There is minor thinning of the dark stain finish in several areas. Small scuffs are visible on the tips of the arms and along the edges of the base, revealing the lighter natural wood beneath the finish.
