R. Huber and Co. Mid-Century Modern Teak Scoop Swivel Lounge Chair - This mid-century modern scoop style swivel lounge chair was produced by R. Huber and Co. (Canada) Ltd. in Downsview, Ontario. The piece features a continuous back and seat design with deep button tufting arranged in a grid pattern. It is upholstered in a teal-colored woven textile. The chair body is supported by a matching upholstered pedestal that flares into a circular base finished with a dark wood trim. The underside of the wooden base is marked with the manufacturer name R HUBER and CO (CANADA) LTD, 30 ST. REGIS CR., DOWNSVIEW, ONT., and MADE IN CANADA. Additional cursive markings on the base specify Teak Furniture and MADE IN CANADA. The construction includes a pedestal swivel mechanism with a central wooden panel inset within a darker finished wood rim. Overall Height: 39 inches Seat Height: 16 inches Width: 28-30 inches. The chair is in very good vintage condition. The wooden base trim exhibits scuffing, scratches, and finish wear consistent with age and use. The teal upholstery appears generally clean and intact, showing minor flattening of the nap and light wear. Swivel mechanism is functional.
