Vintage Bird and Owl Brooches Including Trifari & Avon - This collection of six vintage costume jewelry brooches primarily features avian motifs, including owls, a swan, and a bird in flight. The group contains two pieces by Trifari: one enameled owl perched on a branch with white and dark blue enamel accents on a gold-tone metal base, and one double owl brooch depicting two owls of different sizes on a branch with textured gold-tone feathering. Both Trifari pieces bear a rectangular raised plaque on the reverse marked TRIFARI followed by a copyright symbol. Also included is a Metzke pewter owl face brooch with a stylized, wide-eyed design and textured feathering, marked METZKE above a circled C on the reverse. An Avon brooch features a gold-tone owl with an openwork latticework body and pinkish-red glass eyes, marked AVON with a copyright symbol on a rectangular plaque. The collection is completed by two unmarked pieces: a swan brooch featuring a mottled light blue cabochon body with gold-tone wirework wings and a red rhinestone eye, and a bird in flight decorated with black enamel and pavé-set clear rhinestones with a green stone eye. All brooches utilize rolling safety catches with either horizontal or vertical pin mechanisms.
