Contemporary Hand Carved Wood African Zebra Wall Mask - This is a contemporary decorative wall mask depicting a zebra, hand-carved from a single piece of wood. The item is consistent with woodcraft produced in East Africa for the export market. The mask features an elongated snout, pointed ears, and stylized almond-shaped eyes. The surface is finished with a dark brown stain, with the zebra stripe pattern created through relief carving to reveal the natural light-colored wood beneath. The nostrils are indicated by circular depressions. The reverse side remains unfinished, showing visible tool marks from the carving process. It is equipped with two metal eyelet screws and a twisted wire for wall mounting. No maker marks or signatures are present on the object.
