Murano Sommerso and Avventurina Blue Art Glass Tri-Lobed Ashtray - This Murano art glass ashtray is executed in the sommerso technique, featuring an internal core of opaque powder blue glass encased within a thick outer layer of clear glass. A fine layer of gold-colored avventurina inclusions is suspended between the blue core and the clear exterior, creating a shimmering effect. The hand-blown piece is shaped into an organic, biomorphic trefoil form with three distinct indentations at the rim. The polished base bears an acid-etched mark that reads MURANO on the top line and MADE IN ITALY on the bottom line. The style and construction are consistent with mid-20th-century Italian glass production, resembling works attributed to designers such as Renato Anatra or Flavio Poli. Diameter: Approximately 6 inches The item is in good vintage condition with minor surface wear and light scratching on the underside of the polished base consistent with age and use. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible. Small inherent air bubbles, known as seeds, are present within the glass from the manufacturing process.
