Merry Mushroom Ceramic Hanging Planter - A vintage glazed earthenware hanging planter in the popular Merry Mushroom pattern, produced for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in 1976. The piece is modeled as a large mushroom with a domed cap finished in a yellow and brown ombré glaze and a ribbed underside. A large arched opening on one side provides access to the hollow interior. The item is equipped with an attached gold-tone metal curb chain for hanging. Height: 7.5 inches. This item is in good vintage condition. There is significant brown staining and mineral residue on the unglazed interior surfaces from previous use as a planter. Fine, age-related crazing is present across the glazed surfaces, most notably on the mushroom cap. No chips, structural cracks, or previous repairs are apparent.
