Eames for Herman Miller Fiberglass Shell Armchair - An authentic Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller EC175 upholstered fiberglass shell armchair. The chair features a molded cream-colored fiberglass shell with a fully upholstered interior in a textured mustard yellow fabric. The seat includes a matching loose cushion with a zippered underside. The shell is mounted on a polished aluminum four-star contract-style swivel base equipped with a manual height-adjustment screw and a tilt-tension mechanism. The base terminates in black twin-wheel casters. The underside of the chair bears multiple original manufacturer marks, including a white adhesive label from Herman Miller Inc. of Zeeland, Michigan with a list of US patent numbers, a black ink stamp reading T 18 LI 8 OH, a law tag identifying manufacturer locations in Michigan, California, and Georgia, and a label featuring the stylized m logo. Overall Width: 25 inches Seat Height: 18 inches. Good vintage condition. The mustard fabric shows light staining and soiling, particularly on the seat cushion. There is a small visible tear of approximately 0.5 inches on the outer edge of the right armrest. The molded fiberglass shell shows minor surface scuffs and a small area of adhesive residue on the underside. The polished aluminum base exhibits light oxidation and minor surface scratching. Mechanical swivel and tilt functions are operational. Casters show typical wear.
