Leonid Stroganov, The Seller of Birds, Etching, 2003 - This intaglio etching, titled The Seller of Birds (Russian: Продавец птиц), is a 2003 work by artist Leonid Stroganov from his XVIII Century series. Below the plate mark, the work is inscribed in pencil: Продавец птиц 2003 at the lower left, 14/40 at center, and signed L. Stroganov in Cyrillic script at the lower right. A circular blind stamp containing the artist's stylized initials is embossed in the lower margin. A descriptive label is affixed to the backing paper. Image Size: 7.75 x 7.0 inches Frame Size: 21.0 x 17.0 inches The print is in excellent condition, exhibiting a crisp, high-contrast impression with rich black tones. The paper is clean and free of foxing, toning, or creases. The contemporary metal frame is in good condition with only minor handling marks on the reverse.
